Chemistry
Based Stickers for the Detection of Hazardous Substances |
Company
Profile, Products & Technologies, Target Market
Stamp-Test,
an Israeli SME, has developed a novel chemistry-based platform for the
detection of hazardous substances that can be tailored and infused with
chemical detecting technology to indicate the presence of Lead in toys,
pesticides on fruit, explosive materials on packages and more.
Our
innovative "Lab in a Stamp" method consists of easy to use stickers
that change color when they come in contact with a surface containing
hazardous agents. The founders of company have extensive formal
knowledge and practical experience in the field of chemistry and
industrial manufacturing which combined and allowed them to realize
their technology.
The
company seeks partners having a confirmed colorimetric-type technology
for detecting pesticides on agricultural produce, which can be
integrated into its stickers.
Brief
description of proposed R&D project:
Stamp-Test has developed a unique
technological
platform of stickers containing a selective chemistry which extracts
and reacts with hazardous substances to give a clear indication of
their presence to the laymen user.
The company is currently engaged on expanding its technological
spectrum to include the ability of identifying pesticides on the
surfaces of agricultural products via its sticker platform for use by
private consumers. As part of this effort, the company is looking to
integrate chemical or biochemical based indicators into its stickers,
such that it produces a visible response when exposed to pesticides
(preferably by a distinct colour change).
Desired
Profile of R&D Partner and its role in the proposed R&D
project:
The desired partner
should have the
required technology (see general specifications below) at hand with
relatively little customization required to integrate it into a sticker
platform; or be able to develop the mentioned technology. The partner
should be a developer, researcher, or manufacturer of chemical and/or
biochemical based sensors / indicator / detectors / analysis systems.
The partner's
technology should be
applicable according the followings general specifications:
1. The technology must
present an easily
discernable optical response to the identification of a wide spectrum
of pesticides, but not necessarily quantifiable.
2. The technology must be
sensitive enough
to detect residue quantities of pesticides on the surface of fruits and
vegetables under ambient room conditions.
3. The technology (as a
whole) must be
robust and should have the feasibly of incorporation / encapsulation
and miniaturization into the dimensions and structure of a sticker.
