Brief description of proposed R&D project:

	BBS Telecom believes that Automatic Meter Management(AMM) Solution for Intelligent Grid based on mixed RF/PLM /Wired Technology will be the lead contender in this industry. Our first generation of BBS AMM solutions used cost effective unlicensed ISM Band RF technology as the backbone for data collection and communication between BBS Intelligent Meters and the UtilityServers. Having said that, BBS has also developed the PLC based solution. In fact, BBS Meters are designed to have the capability to be equipped with a variety of communication interfaces, including RF, PLC, POTS, GSM, etc. AMM is a huge market for new services, new technologies and new products to be integrated into a much larger infrastructure. An infrastructure which is driven by connectivity, information technology and energy efficiency.

Desired Profile of R&D Partner and its role in the proposed project:

	We are actively developing communication technologies for our smart meters. We are looking for partners with experience in providing reliable communication means to each household meter. Our present need is to complement our existing products with standards compliant communications. At present some of these standards are still being formulated. We are looking for partners willing to co-develop such standards compliant communicationmodules and share risk and fruits together.
