Humanoid Robotics International Pte Ltd (HRI) is a spin-off from a national R&D project on humanoid robots. HRI’s mission to be a leader in the research, design, integration and world-wide sales of humanoid robots, which offers solution to meet the market demands for eldercare, childcare, edutainment, security, assisted services, and automation of special tasks in manufacturing and defense. They are also aiming to be the leader in developing car-like robots, which offer solutions to meet the market demands for sustainable automation, sustainable mobility and transport, sustainable eldercare and childcare, sustainable learning, sustainable security, and sustainable assistance.
The Founder of Humanoid Robotics International Pte Ltd is the author of a bestselling textbook about robotics. He has developed unique solutions to mechanism design, actuation, hyper-redundant arm manipulator, dexterous robot hand, and planning & control of humanoid robot. The Founder of Humanoid Robotics International Pte Ltd is a pioneer, who advocates and advances the new theory of self intelligence. He is the first person in the world, who has concisely formulated two fundamental problems underlying artificial or self intelligence. And, solutions leading to the answers to these two fundamental problems have positioned HRI as a world leader in the areas of cognitive vision and cognitive linguistics. As a result, we are at a position to develop unique humanoid robots which will possess human-like intelligence, skills and personality.
He has also participated in the European Eureka-PROMETHEUS project on smart vehicles and smart highways in early 1990s. And, he has jointly initiated and formed the first Asian team, which has been registered to the first round of DARPA Urban Challenge on autonomous land vehicles in 2007. In Singapore, he has jointly set up the first research laboratory on intelligent vehicles, which is now evolved into the Intelligent Systems Center.

Humanoid Robotics International is looking for partners in the following two projects:
1. With the increase of grey population and the decrease of birth rate, many countries with advanced medical facility will face the challenge of offering advanced assistive technologies, such as robot helpers, to meet the market demand for eldercare sooner or later. In view of such market potential in Asia, Europe, and North America, we propose to develop a product called “intelligent eldercare robot” which could offer: a) physical assistance to elderly in order to sustain their mobility at home, and b) mental assistance to elderly in order to sustain their quality of life in workforce, or society, without the sufferings caused by loss of memory or loss of aptitude. In order to meet this commercial target, our product development will focus on the following key functionalities: a) advanced mobility, b) advanced manipulation, c) advanced conversational dialogue in natural languages, and d) cognitively-intelligent vision for scene/image understanding.
2. Countries without too much natural resources are aiming at developing products and services which could contribute to sustain a society in many ways. And, a sustainable society must be green, safe and cheap for its citizen to prosper and to grow. Interestingly, one important area which can contribute to the achievement of sustainable society is the sustainable transportation systems, in which the vehicles are expected to be green (zero pollution if cars use renewable energy), safe (zero accident) and cheap (zero ownership if cars will become public utility like electricity and water). In this project, we propose to jointly design and develop a product called RoboCar, which is: a) green because it’s purely powered by electricity, b) safe because it has advanced navigation and guidance systems for driving assistance to elder drivers or inexperienced drivers, and c) cheap because we design them with the off-the-shelf components, devices and modules. With the support from the electricity company in Singapore, RoboCars can be first deployed and showcased in Singapore, and be introduced to other eco-cities in China, Australia and elsewhere.

For the 1st project, Humanoid Robotics International Pte Ltd would like to partner with a company in Israel which is specialized in robotics technology and is strong in robot hardware design and/or robot software development. Our mutual roles will be to jointly develop the above-mentioned four functionalities, which aim to equip the eldercare robot with adequate physical and mental skills in order to meet the market demands for sustainable mobility and sustainable quality of life from elder individuals in any aging society.
For the 2nd project, Humanoid Robotics International Pte Ltd would like to partner with a company in Israel which is specialized in electric vehicles and is strong in the design of electric vehicles and/or the development of navigation and guidance systems. Our mutual roles will be to jointly design battery-powered RoboCar and also to jointly develop the advanced navigation and guidance systems, which will make RoboCars safe to use and cheap to be deployed as community cars for sustainable mobility.
