VastPark Singapore distributes, develops and creates solutions for companies and governments using its own Virtual World platform. VastPark is a Melbourne, Australia headquartered company with a presence in the USA.
The VastPark platform is a highly flexible technology, which creates real-time 3D environments which are viewed within a web-browser-like client. These 3D environments can be populated by multiple users. VastPark\'s uniqueness is in its architecture which allows scalability and flexibility. VastPark is built on web principles and can integrate with databases, web 2.0 content through a .NET plugins system.
Some uses of the platform are:
- Collaboration (discussing and viewing documents and objects in real time)
- Education
- Simulation
- Viewing of large-data sets in 3D space
- Integrating media assets from different sources in the same space
- Advertising and Marketing
- Massive Multiplayer Online Games

VastPark is open to any companies which wish to take advantage of a digital 3D environment. VastPark is ideal for visualizing data from the physical environment, like engineering simulations, data feeds from real-time sources (from agriculture to transportation).
In addition, opportunities in augmented reality, tele-presence also abound. New interfaces, image recognition and input technologies can be prototyped and made easily available using VastPark.
In addition, research in how users understand and can utilize 3D spaces in and of themselves will be very welcome. VastPark brings technological solutions, however, there are extensive \"human problems\" and issues which we need to understand before we can bring the flexibility of the VastPark platform to bear.
The VastPark platform is largely open source and based on open standards. Details are available at www.vastpark.org (developer site).
