Brief Description of Proposed R&D Project:

The general objective of this project is to successfully demonstrate the ability to automate and optimize (with software) the management of an aggregated Behind the Meter (BTM) Cold Energy Storage systems at three hotels in Singapore and demonstrate its ability to shed 1,500 kWh power from the grid for at least 4 hours a day. Another objective is to demonstrate the
ability to respond to an immediate demand from the grid manager and provide immediate relief for the network with 1,500
kWh for at least 1-2 hours. This demonstration will allow us to convince the Distribution System Operator (DSO) and Electricity
Authority of Singapore that demand-side management on HVAC systems is valid and should be supported with the right
legislation moving forward.
