Ecoline Solar Pte Ltd

Incorporated in 2014 and based in Singapore, Ecoline Solar Pte Ltd is the world’s first solar thermal air conditioning manufacturer and technology supplier. Developed in collaboration with experts from the National University of Singapore, the homegrown innovation offers a full range of cooling systems (single & muilt-splits, VRFs) for diverse commercial and residential applications. The company’s cooling technology delivers exceptional energy savings as well as reductions in carbon and heat waste, and has received engineering awards from the Institute of Engineers Singapore and ASEAN.

Ecoline’s patented thermal collector collects released heat from the condenser and harnesses solar and ambient heat to pre-heat the refrigerant, thus reducing workload for the compressor. In the process, the energy used and amount of heat waste released outdoors is reduced.

The company currently has fourteen employees including a technical director responsible for leading R&D initiatives.

Although covid impacted, USD750,000 of domestic sales revenue was generated in 2021.

Ecoline offers a full range of cooling systems for diverse commercial and residential applications. These cooling systems cater to eco and cost savvy users by lowering energy costs 30-55% together with lifecycle savings of up to 75% of the system price compared to conventional inverter air-conditioning systems. Carbon emissions are reduced due to its energy efficiency, and less waste heat is released to the surroundings thereby mitigating the environmental heat burden.

In Singapore, these systems can be found in homes (landed, condominium, public housing) and hostels, schools and hospitals, malls, offices, factories and data centres. Overseas installations include hotels and retail outlets in Myanmar, Philippines and the UAE, as well as UN hospital facilities in the Sudan.

Through the Pilot Project Grant, there is potential to testbed the next generation of Ecoline air conditioners featuring coating technology to improve the energy savings by a further 10%, so as to achieve 40-65% lower energy consumption compared to conventional inverter air-conditioning systems.

It is envisioned that heat transfer and hence energy efficiency will be improved through the application of innovative coating materials on the indoor and outdoor cooling systems.
